Bandh in Malkangiri by Naxals

Vehicular traffic had come to a standstill in most parts of Malkangiri
district today with the naxcalites asking the vehicles to remain
out of the roads in the district . The naxalites were protesting
against the killing of two of their comrades in a crossfire near
Motu in the district by the police on 16th of this month .

The naxalites had hung posters on the roadside trees and had
damaged the roads near Kakarkonda , MPV23 , MV66 and many other
places in the district demanding withdrawal of CRPF and Grey Hound
police force from the district. The roads between Malkangiri district
headquarter to Motu and Orkel to Chitrakonda were the most affected
ones . While the naxalites had called for a three days road blockade
, the district police have started clearing most of the roads in the
district in a move to bring the situation to normal .
