Extremist output claims responsibility for murder

KORAPUT: New People’s Gorilla Army (NPGA), the army unit of CPI(ML) , Srikakulam , in a letter sent by post to a journalist of Koraput on Monday took the responsibility for killing Balaram Sahukar of Nilabadi village in Bandhugaon block in his house recently. The letter which was signed by the secretary of Jhanjavati Area Organizing Committee charged Balaram with hoarding a large amount of money and tribal land.
The letter also accused him of selling jaggery for the preparation of country liquor. Balaram was killed by the naxalites for refusing to hand over the arms, money and documents related to lending of money to the tribals, the letter added.
Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon blocks have been deserted by traders fleeing with the fear of naxalites .Children were the worst affected as majority of schools in the remote areas were remaining closed for the fear of naxalites, sources said.
Naxalites had conducted meetings in broad day light near Borgi and Langalbeda villages of Narayanpatna block recently, sources added.
